Noves SL, Journal on Sociolinguistics is an electronic review that the Directorate General of Language Policy published between 2000 and 2009. The journal was devoted to sociolinguistics and related topics, published from Catalonia but with a clear willingness of opening and pluralism, it offers you a bilingual version (Catalan/English) although it also published the papers in their original version.

The journal aimed to deal with questions involving the future and the maintenance of languages within the new framework of the 21st Century: the analysis of the role of new migrations in the Catalan, European and world society; the impact of new technologies in the processes of shift/promotion of languages; the elaboration of new methods of analysis and research, as well as the implementation of sectorial or specific studies.
